See which keyboard events reach your browser
DeviceCheck reports KeyboardEvent values inside an explicitly started, focused test area. It does not monitor other apps or text fields.
Start and focus
Choose Keyboard and Start / resume test. Press non-sensitive test keys inside the diagnostic area. The tool shows event.code, event.key, repeat, location and modifiers, and remembers up to 256 observed codes. Tab remains available to leave the area; losing focus pauses observation until you resume explicitly.
Interpret the fields
event.key describes the reported key value, which can depend on layout, modifiers or input method. event.code describes the reported key position identifier. Neither proves a universal physical keyboard layout. Repeat is the browser repeat flag, not a hardware switch failure. Composition/IME events and OS/browser-reserved shortcuts may not behave like ordinary keys.
Export or clear
Prepare session JSON to pause and review a bounded browser-observation summary before downloading. No key contents are uploaded or persisted. Do not type passwords or sensitive text in a diagnostic session. Clear session drops observed events/tested keys and live state.
